Xin Hua

Xin Hua Hotel is in front of Wanda Plaza (mall) and it makes you not so dependent upon the hotel service. By the way, hotel service is not so good. One: even in 2014 it's difficult to find someone who speaks English. I've called to restaurant and nobody could speak English. I've called to Manager Assistant he couldn't speak English as well. So, I've called to Reception and finally someone spoke English, but not very well. Also, the recepcionist told me the restaurant was closed at 2PM. Anyway, It's cheap and it has a good location.

This is first time I have visited Tangshan from 10 Sep to 19 Sep 2013 and lived in this hotel. This is not a bad hotel for medium class service required customer. Rooms are good but bath rooms are not up to mark. It requires up gradation. The breakfast is good in revolving restaurant on 20th floor. You can see the town from there. Room service and staffs are very nice. They are very much cooperative. One of the biggest shopping mall of Tangshan Wanda Plaza is in front of this hotel. Tangshan Departmental store and supermarket is close to this hotel. Bus stoppage is in front of the hotel. Without rush hour it is easy to get taxi from in front of hotel. No wifi in room only in lobby. One of the good thing is that, one of their assistant manager knows English. Who helped us a lot. One of the main problem is that you cannot exchange currency here.

I normally stay here when I come to Tangshan. The price is inexpensive and the location is ok, not too far from the train station and close some restaurants. Now the demolition of some local buildings has finished and the new Wan Da shopping complex across the road is finished, staying in this hotel can be more peaceful. The breakfast buffet is ok, the 3rd floor restaurant quite good. The better rooms are spacious and clean. Water and some fruit is complimentary. I also got a cup of hot green tea when I arrived. At night, some biscuits are provided. Expect the usual "massage?" phone calls in evening though. Check in and check out is done politely and efficiently. The one negative is trying to get a taxi outside. I had to wait 30 mins when it was raining !
