Checked in Ramada Yichang due to the convenient location in downtown. Front desk asked for cash for first night due to credit card machine not working but agreed to refund once the issue is fixed. We were asked for another cask deposit 2nd day due to the machine still not functioning. We were later asked for full cash payment on all 10 days stay the 2nd day afternoon as the hotel can not accept credit card. After complaining to the hotel during the Chinese new year holidays, we decided to call Wyndham US customer care to escalate this issue. A case number was filed and we were told the hotel will follow up to address this issue but have not heard any feedback yet. Hopefully we will get the cask back with the credit card payment issue addressed.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights whilst visiting the 3 gorges dam project. The hotel on appearances looks grand but very dated. On arrival no one helped with our bags and the reception speak no English whatsoever, which is common in China, however even worth a translator I struggled to communicate. There seems to be nothing nearby for food and drinks there were just a couple of little shops. We went into the bar which was very dark and badly lit and stood there for what felt like ages no one approached us or tried to serve us so we left in the end. The room was very small and badly lit which gave a very gloomy effect, bizarrely there was a huge window into the shower! The doors to the wardrobe did not close properly so light inside was on all night. It was extremely hot in the room even with air conditioning, (I guess it didn’t work but I had no chance of getting into a conversation about it), which made our stay quite uncomfortable, we were glad we were there only 2 nights. The positives were the price approximately £44 for 2 nights and the view from the room over the park was pleasant.

Hotel is quite old but the Ramada quality is still more than good. Big rooms well furnished and well cleaned. Good choice for breakfast in a lovely room. Staff is professional and care with the clients. Located not really in the center is a good position to the train statiom
