Friendship Palace

Nice and comfortable. The main complaint was the horrible sewer smell at all hours of the day and night! Cozy bar and brightly lit tea room very nice for relaxing! Fairly centrally located, although I think Harbin is very spread out! Breakfast was included, but lots of eating places near the hotel!

i stayed for two weeks and found friendship within one. The walls are very old. I feel as though the friendship offered here is of mediocre quality. i learned that food is more valuable than friendship. you can do without friendship. you cannot do without food. generally overpopulated with friends. I tried to sing the friends theme song in the lobby, but was escorted out of the building.

We just returned from a trip to Harbin and we reserved a room via Ctrip at this hotel in the VIP building. My room reminds me of my college day dorm room both size and amenities. I got a desk with a chair, a TV on a stand, a tiny closet, a small bed and a small bathroom. Although it was not big, it was clean and comfortable for one person. You cannot beat the location as I was a 5 minute walk from the downtown Central Street and the Song Hua River where a lot of activities take place. We were also a 20 minute walk from the St. Sophia Church and Russian town. However, do not expect much help from the hotel staff if you do not speak Mandarin as they do not understand nor speak English at all. For the price during this peak season during the Ice Festival, I would say it's a good value. However, at other times of the year, opt to stay at the Other Building (Ying Bin Building) as the rooms are much larger and newer.
