Harbin Joysome Serviced Apartment

One must know before staying here that it is a motel and NOT a hotel. Yes the rooms were apartment like but cleanliness and check-in including room service was all in a sorry state. So expect just the same before booking a room here. Now if you really want to stay in this kind of motel, the good points are that there was free fast wifi, a fridge, microwave, Washing machine, dish washing basin. some crockery. dish washer, bed (improper bedding), a television. study table and other basic furniture items. The lady dealing with room booking related details was well versed in English and communication was easy.

No proper check in counter at all. Stayed here for four nights, only given one small toilet roll to use. There's also nobody to clean up the room the entire stay. Though there's wifi, fridge, tv, microwave in the room for your use. I don't recommend anybody to stay here

Great price and fantastic location (and safe), right off the main Yuyi road just past Zhaolin Park. Very quick walk to the waterfront flood memorial area, St. Sophia, or the lively cobblestone Jhongyang shopping / market street. Mine was a large 1 room apartment, with stocked bathroom, washer, fast wired internet, fridge, microwave, etc; the furnishings were a little worn, but for the amazing price and a backpacker this was pretty sweet. But be warned, if you are expecting a regular hotel with reception and services, don't stay here. You will not even see a sign saying 'Joysome Service Apartment'. The building is easy to find, but it says "Haughty - Happy Frosty - Crazy" instead of any other name. So you have to go in, tell the grumpy building guards (not affiliated with the hotel) and they will point you to the elevator doors to the left for building A2. Up to room 1608, knock and they will help you. There did seem to be a more regular reception/office though just down the hall with a sign only in Mandarin. So go there if you don't want to bang on door 1608. Just be weary of this when looking for the building or asking a cab to take you there. Just get off at the corner off Yimian and Yuyi or if you have it marked well on a decent map, the north gate of Zhaolin Park is quite close too. If have a phone (I didn't), that could help too. Otherwise, great place; the staff lady there had no English but she still bent over backwards to help me get set up and again when I got locked out later on. She also did phone someone, a manager or something who had perfect english to confirm my booking and ask about the internet and what not.
