Stayed at a hotel as part of the Grand Tour of China for 2 nights. Settlement is very rapid. In the lobby there is a coffee machine, you can drink and tea (bags with tea, sugar, etc. are included). There's an ice cream refrigerator right there - absolutely free for the guests. The rooms are large, the bathroom is voluminous, the shower corner (no bathroom, only so) will accommodate 2-3 people without compromising personal space. The robes aren't in the room, but everything is available. The mattresses are hard, but they slept like dead. Breakfast starts at 6.30. Chinese and European dishes. Good quality coffee machine coffee. The hotel is not close to the attractions, but we were taken by the handle - taken on tour, we did not feel uncomfortable.

The Holiday Inn Express Luoyang is an average hotel overall. The rooms feel quite dated and could use some updating, although they are functional and adequate for a short stay. Breakfast is decent, with a reasonable selection, although it’s not as good as some of the other Holiday Inn Express branches I’ve stayed at in China. The location is convenient, with an underground station nearby. However, it is quite far from the ancient town, so you’ll need to rely on public transport or a taxi to get there. Overall, a reasonable option for a short stay, but there are other Holiday Inn Express hotels in China that offer a better overall experience.

Booked for 3 nights in June 2025. The room was decent: basic with no frills, pretty much what I expected for a Holiday Inn Express, but still clean and well stocked with water and amenities. Both the WiFi and air conditioning worked well. There was also a safe in the room, which I didn't see in other hotels in China I stayed at. The included breakfast mainly catered to Chinese tourists; it stopped at 10, which was a bit earlier than other places I stayed at. The biggest plus is the location. An exit to a Metro station is right in front of the hotel (effectively a minute's walk). The hotel is centrally located, and there are some eateries nearby, although the walk could still be up to 10 minutes because of how wide each block in the city is. Overall a good hotel for the price and one I'm happy to stay at again.
