This hotel is in the middle of nowhere, quite far walking distance from the downtown airport bus terminal/hotel & train station (about 800M to 1 KM). All rooms are smoking room, & of all the 3 rooms that I request to inspect before change, all filled with aging funny & bad smells (smell like your clothes have been soaked for weeks & never dry properly) .
Big No No for this hotel is they only have WiFi at lobby area, not in the room.
This is a typical chinese hotel that they built & let it aged naturally from there onwards (with no proper maintenance). You can see it from the dirty & ugly carpet at the corridor. I can safely bet they have never cleaned their aircon since day one! Thank God I stayed here during April when the weather is still pleasant & cooling.
While the bed is hard as usual, the good thing is they provide spotlessly clean beedsheet, towel & linen, & a very good hot shower pressure!

Known to Chinese locals as Changsha Yuanjialing Ger Lin How Thai Jiu Dian 长沙袁家岭 格林毫泰酒店, this hotel's location is perfect for those who want to travel further to Zhangjiajie, Feng Huang etc.
The room and service are average but at USD 25, it's very good value considering The Changzhutan Bus Station (aka Apollo Bus Station as it's located next to Apollo Department Store) and Changsha Train Station are only 4 bus stops away (10 yuan by Taxi) so we don't have to go to West Bus Terminal which is over 10 km. from downtown.
There are 1 convenient store and 1 department store right at the corner and take only 10-15 mins by bus or taxi to go to Wu Da Ave.shopping center and Walking Street Night Market..

We stayed 4 nights, paying about USD120 inclusive of taxes. Temperatures in Changsha during our travel ranged between 0-6 degree Celsius.
We were allocated a room that was right at the end of the corridor, on the 4th level, and slept well throughout the 4 nights. (In another hotel in Changsha, we were allocated the first room next to the lift, and the ruckus/second-hand smoke from night revelers filtered into the room as we slept).
The hotel was located near the main road, with a bus-stop just a minute's walk away - a very convenient location as most of the buses making a stop there, will bring you to the major attractions in/out of the small town. There are also plenty of small eateries nearby, serving simple food e.g. porridge, pan-fried snacks, dim sum, noodles. A few of them keep their shutters up till the wee hours of 1am, so if you are looking for a late snack, it's just around the corner. Diagonally across the hotel (from the road junction) is a big departmental store, which may keep shoppers occupied for hours too.
Room Review: Compact sized-room, with sufficient space for two persons to move around. The furniture were in fairly good condition; the shower room fairly clean and spacious. Overall, it was a comfortable room, with an efficient heater to warm us up as soon as we got in from the cold.
Service Staff: Friendly, and helpful. Upon checking in to the room, they rang up to inquire on our satisfaction with the room allocated.
There are cheaper alternatives around with room to negotiate for way cheaper rates than the listed rates they put up - which we did. But comparing similar room rates - I would choose to stay here again.
