Jinjiang Inn - Changsha Wuyi Square

The majority of Changsha's attractions are located near Wuyi Square. It is prudent to book a hotel near this focus area. I booked this motel as it is a reputable hotel chain. It is located right beside Taiping Street, an old shopping alley since ancient times. The chain motel is now named Magnolio Hotel (Wuyi Square Branch). Changsha was my last destination of my 10-day Hunan trip. I did not follow any travel agency and explore based on my research. When we arrived at Changsha from Fenghuang Ancient Town, I was shocked by the hot weather of 38 degrees. We were drenched with sweat and felt much better when in the cold air-conditioned lobby of the hotel. The fusion tea drinks at the lobby imm quenched much of our thirst. The location of this hotel is superb. It is only 150 m from Exit 1 of Wuyi Square metro station. Seniors above 65 years old, including foreigners, enjoy free metro travel in Changsha. We just showed our passports and there is no second question asked, and the staff will open the gate for you to access the station. Thus, travelling to the airport via metro is also free. Wuyi Square is Line 2 station. From Wuyi Square, you can change to Line 6 at Yinbing Station and take the Line 6 train directly to Terminal 1 & 2 of Huanghua International Airport and free. The metro station also provided shelter from the heat, and I explored Huangxin Pedestrian Street and IFC mall via the metro exits. The hotel receptionist informed me that they had upgraded my room to a bigger one for free. The toilet facilities and room are well renovated and clean though the room is still quite small. I stayed for 2 nights over here, and both me and my wife had wonderful sleep. There were also plenty of eateries and restaurants at the vicinity. Walmart is just 400 m away. For travel to attractions, Orange Island is only just two stations away at 橘子洲 station along Line 2, and for Mount Yuelu, it is only one station away at 溁 湾 镇 站 from 橘子洲 station For location, cleanliness, and staff responsiveness, I will give this hotel 10 points upon 10. Jinjiang Inns are like a McDonalds hamburger. exactly the same from all outlets. And that's what I like; you know exactly what you will get with no unpleasant surprises. The bathrooms are all the same and everything works, the bed will be the same (hard!) and there will even be a cockatoo painting on the wall. They must have ordered thousands of them. Good value, good air-con, generally good service unless it's gets busy, clean, good breakfast (25rmb) and normally good wi-fi. It's a no-brainer really. Same, same is good. And the locations are carefully chosen too, this one is great, between 2 metro stations (line 1 and Line 2), next to the Taiping Food Street and close to Wanda Plaza. They can be noisy however, close to busy roads like this one and full of "playing" Chinese. The paper thin walls don't help.

Location perfect for going anywhere in this lovely city Staff have little english...depends shift...but its 2019 and easy with translation apps if a problem Comfort fine...vs price...clean and etc One BIG complain Duty staff on my 2nd nite WAY TOO PASSIVE to do anything about the guest smoking on the nosmoking floor I eventually dealt with it myself by knocking on the morons door and threatening him... Not a strategy most people will want or be willing to use....i happen to speak enough mandarin to get his attention LOL Some more training needed by central management on this aspect All else ok Training needed on this issue
