Mingchen International Hotel

This hotel is old, it needs a renovation soon; room was big but really dark, fairly clean; bed was quite comfortable. Okay location, there is one convenient store behind the hotel, couldn't find any decent cafe within walking distance. Okay food, good service.

Comfortable and spacious rooms. Entire staff was very helpful and catered well to foreigners. Dining room was also excellent. Don’t forget to get the massage when you stay here. You will not be disappointed- best in China.

I have travelled a lot in China and this hotel is the typical old-style Chinese "5-star" hotel. In International standard it would be the equivalent of an aging 4-star hotel with the comfort of a 3-stars hotel. Staff were however very polite and well trained but there nothing International about this hotel except the basic English they can speak at the reception. The TV channels are all crappy Chinese channels, the food in the breakfast area is very Chinese also and the tenderloin pepper beef saved it for me or I would have rated 2 stars maybe. Location-wise, the area is quite remote so if on a vacation you might consider other options especially when the hotel is a bit overpriced also in my opinion.
