Shengmeida Hotel - Zhangjiajie

I visited the spa on April 15 after a long flight, and it was the perfect ending to a long journey. The staff were friendly, accommodating and professional. The spa facility was beautiful and modern in appearance and well maintained. I will return soon.

Don't stay here, especially if you don't speak Chinese. I couldn't have felt more embarrassed for the staff - it is literally a joke. The so called general manager offered us dinner and a show in lieu of the resort and spa. He couldn't believe that the hotel was being advertised as a resort and spa by travel companies. We booked the hotel from a site whereby the actual company posts their property. When I said this he pretended that he had something to do and ran off. Fortunately the actual forest itself was worth the trip and the hotel is just a bad memory.

I had 2 nights at Samantha Resort & Spa and everything just fine. Staffs are friendly, but English communication is not so good. Breakfast buffet with various foods for both Western and Asia styles. The resort is very close Baofeng lake, so you can visit it by walking.
