Hohhot Inner Mongolia Hotel

It takes about 20 minutes by taxi from Huheho Special East Station. The ground floor lobby was very large and there were shops selling local dairy products and sweets. The room was large and comfortable, and the tub was large. There is also a lush green park around the hotel and several restaurants. It is a prestigious hotel in the special city of Huheho, and it is said to be a venue for big events.

Although we spent only two days here, I'm still impressed by the concept and the content of this hotel! I'm usually not going to this hotel level, yet the price of this one is really a bargain comparing to what it offers and how it looks. It would be difficult to describe this immersive place, yet if you have in mind some elements of Mongolian heritage and tradition, multiply it with local meaning and knowledge, and think how that could be present through each single element of a contemporary hotel. Rooms are fantastic, but that's the most ordinary part. Everything else is so special and unique, and coloured by layers of centuries, ethnicities, diversity. Even some members of the staff are wearing beautiful traditional clothes while a huge statue of Genghis Khan is dominating entrance hall. Their English might get better, yet this region is a little bit further from major Chinese routes and regions, and it would certainly improved in years to come. Inside hotel you may find many shops and stores for souvenirs, food, clothes, accessories... Plenty extremely richly decorated rooms and halls and conference venues - I saw at least dozen of them. There is also a pool and (let's say) spa facility but they're the only minus here - I think that's not really popular among Chinese. The food is excellent and diverse, service perfect and you really can't imagine anything else... :)

We arrived early after an overnight train and the hotel manager let us check in early which was very nice. Although the location of this fancy hotel is not near the central area it seems to be a popular venue where the locals hold wedding banquets and other celebrations. While we were there, fire crackers were lit up in the parking lot during noon time for a wedding banquet. We were told that this is quite common. Our room is very well furnished and clean. The bathroom has a deep soaking tub. A very comfortable bed and the wifi was very good. We expected the hotel breakfast to be very good but it turned out to be just average. Mr. Tony An who speaks very good English was very friendly and helpful. He gave us directions to places. I recommend this hotel especially for the Mongolian decor.
