Phoenix

Two big bowls of pink fake/plastic flowers are outside the hotel. Across the road from the hotel are a few shops selling soda, but not much else. The hotel has a big collection of gold lighting fixtures in the centre of a square at level 2 where the cafe is. Clean, basic rooms.

Since I arrived, it was almost impossible to communicate in English. Asking for a taxi for next day was almost an adventure. Rooms are quite small but clean. Breakfast is ok and wifi also fine. Bell boy was very kind and supportive.

I stayed here last month when travelling through Hohhot - big mistake. Some of the staff were friendly, but the majority rude and unaccommodating. The hotel looks a bit dated and is generally not well maintained. Food is passable, but really not worth the effort of having to deal with the staff. Avoid.
