Parkview Dingshan

Staying for 5 weeks here, bit of a mix up with rooms originally but sorted now. We are in the Dingshan apartments, which is a separate building, in a suite. Big rooms, family size fridge, microwave, kettle. Heating can't be used until after 6pm but is good once on. The windows open which is a bonus! Everything is cream and beige which is easy on the eye and pleasant. I like the hard beds. Tea bags provided, no sugar, milk or coffee sachets. Wifi in rooms is slow but adequate. Only 1 English channel which is infonews. Breakfast is extensive and changes every day. I thought it was poor until I went to the Holiday Inn Express in Shanghai. Lunch and dinner, I'm often the only person in the room. The food I've had is nice, actually the steak was terrific, but many western dishes are unavailable or not what was expected. Reading these reviews apparently there's another restaurant! I would never have known. The staff are friendly and helpful but have so little English that it's hard. All the foyer signs and promotional boards are in Chinese, maybe there are other hidden treasures? No clue where the swimming pool is but was told that it's not usable, so maybe drained for the winter? Handy for the 21 bus which joins up to subway lines 2 and 4. Love having a tub in the bathroom, good towels. Staying here is fine.

Needs sprucing up , in particular the bathrooms. Peeling paint, poor stream from shower head. Room was a smoking room so woke up feeling like I’d smoke a packet of cigarettes each morning. Mattress was very hard but pillows and Doona were fab. Thanks to the Chinese men in the adjoining room who kept knocking on the connecting door at all hours of the night and freaking me out.

The service was soooooo bad. The key cannot open the door then I went to the reception. The man there kept saying: wait for a moment. The fridge was broken. The woman said all the fridge were broken and they would put our staff in the fridge at the cafe for us. We found out that they didn't do so after we came back! 酒店服务实在太差了！！！钥匙打不开门在前台等半天不给处理。冰箱是坏的去询问，人家回复说我们的所有冰箱都不制冷的都不能用的，可以记下我们房号帮忙把东西放到咖啡厅里的冰箱，等我们回来发现，就是说的好听，压根没帮忙放。这家酒店地理位置也不好，想吃饭要下山走很远，真的非常差，以后再也不会来！也会劝阻所有朋友来！
