Sheraton Nanjing Kingsley Hotel & Towers

Checkin staff is extremely efficient and professional. Well maintained at decent location. Room is comfortable. Overall good value.

Sheraton Nanjing Kingsley is centrally located in Nanjin, within walking distance to subway line 2 stations. I am a Bonvoy Titanium Elite, and was upgraded to a suite room. I was told that all suite room occupied the corner of the building, and it gives great view of the city. In particular, viewing the Qing Huai river flow through the city from your own hotel room is a surreal experience. The hotel has an interesting elevator system. You have to input the floor outside of the elevator by combing the key card and input the floor number that you intend to go. The panel will then direct you to one of the 5 elevators (A-E), and once the elevator arrives, you will find that the floor number you have punched in shows up in the elevator schedule list. The system takes a bit time to get used to, but I think that it works fairly well. I have used the concierge lounge at the hotel a number of times. The concierge lounge staffs, lead by Amanda, did an excellent job in service. I was always offered drinks when I arrived at the lounge. Even though the evening happy hour gets busy in the beginning, the lounge staffs ensure that there is ample food with good quality for the guests. You can have breakfast in either the 2nd floor buffet restaurant or in the concierge lounge. I choose the buffet restaurant, and was satisfied with the quality and variety of the food. Some of the highlights are fresh squeezed watermelon, orange and cucumber juices, soft tofu, Chinese pancakes, fried eggs with bacon wrappers, pork floss pancakes.

When I stayed at the Nanjing Sheraton more than ten years ago, it still belonged to the Starwood Group. Of course, this hotel has been established for a certain period of time, but I am not too worried because as a member of a large hotel group, I am not a low-end hotel. As a high-end hotel brand, I believe the hotel will have a certain level of equipment maintenance. When I checked in, my membership was still shown as a gold card member (but I had successfully challenged for platinum status when I checked out of the previous hotel that day). The hotel arranged for me to enjoy platinum benefits in advance, use the executive floor, and can supplement caffeine at odd hours, and have dinner. If you don’t want to go out to eat or drink, you can also choose to have a light meal at the hotel. Amanda, the manager of the executive lounge, is chatty and makes people feel at home. During their stay, they felt welcomed like a friend. For breakfast, I chose to go to the restaurant on the second floor (the breakfast dining area for general guests). I really liked the local delicacy duck blood vermicelli soup, and also liked their wonton soup. For the next day's meal, in addition to coffee, I just had a bowl of duck blood wonton vermicelli soup. Conveniently located, meetings with agents are within walking distance. Four stars this time: 1. The room is next to the elevator (my personal information states that it is far away from the elevator). Whenever someone wants to use the elevator and sense the room card, I will hear a beep. I didn't feel anything at first. After hearing it too much, I felt a little bothered. 2. The hotel network has a lot of room for improvement. During the stay, sometimes it is connected to the hotel's network, but it will also show that there is no network. The mobile network will often automatically jump to the mobile network, which should be the hotel's network. The connection is disconnected, so it automatically jumps back to the mobile network. There is another hotel of the same group nearby, but the price is 50% higher than the Sheraton. If you are here for vacation and to pamper your family, you may consider staying at a hotel of the same group by the lake. But if you are on a business trip, the price is affordable and convenient. Still the focus of my consideration.
