This property is far below Sofitel standards and shouldn’t carry the brand in its current state. I booked a Luxury Room and specifically chose this hotel expecting a proper upgrade as an Accor Gold member. On arrival, I was given a room that was not an upgrade, smelled strongly of cigarettes, and was simply not acceptable. I had to go back to the front desk to point this out. Only then was I moved to a suite on a higher floor. While the suite was spacious and the high-floor view was a positive, the core issues remained: persistent cigarette smell, visible lack of cleanliness (e.g., dirty surfaces like the tissue box), worn and stained carpet, and a very poor mattress—nowhere near the Sofitel MyBed standard. Everything was dull, tired and almost creepy. Like a very vintage Las Vegas hotel. This is not a positioning issue—it’s execution. I’ve stayed at the Sofitel Xi’an (similar age and concept), and it was clean, well-managed, properly maintained, with real recognition of status and a clear service standard. The gap here is not subtle—it’s fundamental. At this point, either the property is brought back up to brand standards or it should not operate under the Sofitel name.

Poor quality in so many aspects. We booked the Business Deluxe Elite Double Bed Room With Distant View Of Xuanwu Lake, 60sqm room. One lounge chair for 2 people, cannot order white wine, I ordered an ice bucket for wine bottle but they do not have one, we were delivered odd wine glasses, ordered ice and delivered it in a plastic bag, had to buy water from the local shop because only 2 bottles available in room, advertise a bar, but bar is permanently closed, had a business item delivered and within 20 minutes went to get it and absolute confusion lookong for it. Absolutely below the Sofitel standard. In 18 months I have been to China 7 tomes for about 4 months. This is the lowest quality offering advertising as a quality hotel.

Rooms - Accor membership approval is average, and does not mention due to welcome drinks, executive lounge and other rights, whether the room is upgraded also support my Breakfast - I've rarely had such a bad breakfast in 5 stars, lightning shelter
