Pleasant hotel with friendly staff and all the amenities, a bit out dated but comfortable. The staff spoke english and were very helpful in helping us organize a tour of the water villages. Very close to most attractions.

The Scholars Hotel has everything you wan from a pool to Wifi to expansive breakfasts! The down side is the notable wear and tear on the hotel! It’s time for major re-furnishing! The staff are really pleasant and helpful people!

Scholars had the taste of a typical Chinese decor and ambiance. Very tired and needs a lot of upgrading. Nice garden, food o.k. Nothing over the top. Rooms are basic but do have good amenities. Had problems with the power plugs. The room I had, had a view overlooking a ledge. So kept my curtains closed the whole time. Dark rooms, dim lighting. Bed not very comfortable. Location is close to shopping area.
