International Hotel

When walking into the hotel's lobby, it has a very spacious lobby, that gives you the grand feeling. However, it is still very much the Chinese style. Checking in is rather slow, English is limited. The room setting is still very much of the 1950s-1960s chinese style. not very international though. Buffet breakfast and dinner is available, however, your room key card is needed, so that the attendant at the entrance can login in to register (when you are a room guest). In the hotel's restaurant, when there is buffet, may hardly able to find decent food to fill as majority of the guests takes as much as possible for themselves. Hence the environment is rather noisy. The consolation is the window seats in the restaurant where you can have a nice scenic view, where there is a river, with walled and decorative side banks

This is a fine older hotel in a walkable part of town. Fruit stands and small restaurants nearby. Staff has been extremely helpful and friendly. One of the desk clerks even took me shopping to find a certain kind of local tea. My laundry came back ahead of schedule. The carpet in the elevators needs to be replaced, because it gives a bad first impression and it wouldn't cost much to remedy that. Everything works as it's supposed to. Breakfast is more than satisfactory, and was included in the price of my room. Pretty sure they have English speakers on staff, but I didn't test that out. No large tour groups, which is a plus. Good value for the price. I would definitely stay here again. Unless you are looking for something ultramodern and posh, you should like it here.

My family stayed at the Yixing International Hotel and were very pleased. We stayed in a newly refurbished room and it was clean and even stylish. We have stayed in many many Chinese hotels and this was very pleasant, especially for a place off the tourist paths. They are actively remodeling the rooms in the hotel. There is a great restaurant just around the corner, to the left of the entrance (looking out at the parking lot in front). There is also a chain restaurant common in China across the street (to the right off the hospital) where you can get a great cold soybean milk.
