Having read the reviews of the hotel, I think this reveals more about people's expectations than anything else. It's not a palace, but the rooms were functional, clean, and I was shocked at the range of Western breakfast options in a city which is not full of tourists - I think too often we expect these options to be available when after all, this is a hotel run by a Chinese airline. The bar does shut a little early but there are other options fairly nearby, as the location is excellent. Communication was a little tough but I managed to order an iron and explain that I had flooded the bathroom using Pleco and my basic Mandarin, and the housekeeping team were prompt and attentive. I would certainly stay here again.

This hotel really have seen better times. Everything is old and needs renovation. Room was spacious. Comfy Bed had new clean white sheets. Wifi is stable (not that fast). There was some strange smell (i guess the room was smoking). Reception and other staff can understand and speak English. Breakfast standard.

The room was big, but the rug was dirty, the bathroom had a weird smell and it was very old. You could see easily that many things in the room needed repairing and updating, WiFi wasn't good (only worked good in some rooms and in the lobby). Breakfast was ok, but they should have more western options for foreigners. Staff didn't manage English so it was difficult for us to communicate or ask for something in the hotel. Good thing: they offer slippers, robe and other good services. Also, some webpages mentioned the hotel had a gym and an indoor pool and it they are not there anymore.
