Super 8 Hotel Jilin Da Jie

No frills hotel chains like this or the 7 days ones give you a clean and comfortable place to spend the night without any of the little extras that you might find in some more expensive establishments. Here, the room was 80% taken up by a very large and very comfortable bed. You have a modern flat screen TV, but I couldn't for the life of me work out how to use it! There was also a computer in each room that was free to use. The bathroom was clean and the hot water, whilst not boiling was OK. The worst thing for me was the toilet that was, to save space, sandwiched between the shower and the sink. To sit on it meant you had to be a contortionist! The stay was very comfortable and, because the window was damaged, not too hot! The elevator was a little old and small to cope with the size of the hotel, but on the whole a very pleasant stay.

Very comfortable beds, western standard, you will understand what i mean if you have slept on china hard beds before. I slept like a log on it. Hot water was respectable, room was clean. Cons: near railway line, so you can hear the train passing by from time to time. Pro: Very near railway station. As usual, we couldnt get a cab in the 1030am morning when we need to go to the tratin station, we took a three-wheel motorcycle, and gritted our teeth to fight with the chilling -30 degree C wind. Just a turn round the corner and we reached the train station, cost is RMB5. Thats how near it is.
