Dalian Liangyun Hotel

A decent hotel. The room I stayed in (business) was a good size with a good bed, though the arrangement and the bathroom were a little awkward. The staff spoke English quite well, and pointed me out to some good restaurants across the street. However, they failed in helping me book a train ticket, telling me they were all sold out when in fact a visit to the train station ticket booth revealed the opposite. If you need booking, look elsewhere. The LAN internet in the room was good, but the wifi in the lobby was unusable most of the time. Beware of the "Western breakfast". Besides omelettes, its pretty much just all Chinese food, and the coffee is instant Nescafe coffee dumped into a pot and put on a warmer. Check out "Awesome" cafe a few blocks away. They have good coffee, though they don't open till 10AM.

I stayed at the hotel for three nights, The rooms were spotless and look newly renovated. The breakfast was ok but geared toward chinese guests. The beds were very comfortable and there was HBO and some other english channels on TV. The location of the hotel is very central. I cannot comment on the service or price since checking and payment was not done by me. I enjoyed staying at the hotel and would recommend it.

The Liangyun Hotel is on Wuwu Lu, five minutes walk from the tram, and a 20 minute walk from Zhonshan Square. The rooms are newly renovated, and a good size. The breakfast is good. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.
