Joya Hotel Dalian Youhao

Book through travel agent. Traveling with family but room given different floor with smoke smell when enter the room. Room key unable to use when scan the lift. Front desk service was bad during check in however the housekeeper was nice.

A Zen hotel in the heart of downtown Dalian. Zen design elements are evident everywhere. It's beside the Intercontinental, just off the traffic circle with the big Dalian soccer ball sculpture. Clean, quiet, friendly, uncrowded. A few weeks before Christmas, the lobby was decorated with a charming tree.The rooms are beautiful. The bathroom has a separate shower room and a drying room. There's a nice nook with fake books, a cozy place for writing things like this on a snowy night.

I stayed here for a week on a business trip and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The hotel is well-designed and clean. Although the hallways were a bit drab, the lobby and the rooms are excellent. The rooms are very modern, and well appointed. Cozy bed, and the bathroom was quite nice. I could relax here. The breakfasts were great - good combination of Western and Chinese food. The only downside is that the breakfast space is a bit crowded and noisy. The kitchen did not have any good vegetarian options, which while standard for China, is a drawback for international travelers like myself. Also, the hotel could use more English speaking staff - there appeared to be only one staff member on the day shifts that could converse in English. The location is excellent - centrally located in Dalian. I could walk around the area safely at night, and found that I could get to most anywhere I'd like to go quite easily from the hotel. I could flag a taxi quickly, while hotel staff could also grab one for me in about five minutes and converse with the driver when needed. I'm sure there is plenty I am missing here, but overall its a great hotel. I would defo stay here again on my next visit to Dalian.
