Great service and staff go out of their way to ensure guests are comfortable. However, the hotel is in dire need of a refurbishment and the air conditioning needs to be looked at. The temperature in the room was around 28/29 degrees and it is nearly impossible to have a good night of sleep.

The hotel itself is a little dated and we had trouble with our A/C not working correctly. Thankfully the windows open and in March, the cold air outside was able to cool down the space. We stayed in non smoking room, which smelled like smoke. Overall it's a quality offering for the price. It is also located in a central part of Shenyang, near the park. We also enjoyed the buffet breakfast which had a good variety of western style food, which appeals to us westerners. The staff were friendly and easy to communicate with. We also loved the free cookies at reception. We would consider returning again but would insist on properly working A/C and a room that didn't smell like smoke.

The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is good, but not outstanding. Of course, they;ll bring you a sheet if you ask, because duvets are hot for those of us who need less heft and weight on our feet. The bar pretends to have Guinness on tap, it doesn't, but it does have a good diversity of mixed drinks and even some decent wines. The rooms smell of smoke and especially in the morning, the ventilation brings every person's fumes who is smoking in the hotel through the AC/Heater or the pipes in the floor. About five-six am, the smoke becomes choking. But, it is a pretty solid hotel and it is in a pretty decent location.
