Xining Mansion

The hotel was renovated in 2018. So the previous comments are outdated. The rooms are nicely decorated and it is clean. The breakfast is ok and the gym has all equipment you need for a workout. The hotel staff are friendly but only 1 person could speak some English.

The beds were hard and the pillows stuffed with what felt like straw. But the beds were clean as was the bathroom. Amenities were very basic. However, there was a rubber shower mat in the shower that was moldy and there was mold on the grout. But everything worked and the rest of the bathroom was clean and functional. It was described as a 4-star hotel but what scale, I don't know.

This hotel was quite run down. It had hard mattresses and pillows stuffed with straw. The bathroom had a shower than ran all over the floor and was in need of remodelling. It did not have wifi - must have been the only place we stayed that did not offer this, even in the lobby. It was located right across the street from a large K Mart type super store, which might be convenient for some, but didn't have much else to recommend it.
