Cien Hotel

This hotel was very nice. Small room but had most everything. Not sure if it's true in all of Asia, but in the three hotels I've been in so far, they do NOT supply face cloths. Be advised. Lots to do and see around this Hotel. Great eating places. I never did get the room to cool down to my liking.

The reception area was nothing to shout for but as we walked towards our room, we were impressed by how big the hotel was ... Each room has an unique suite name. Ours was a family suite with a single and queen sized bed and a separate games room. The Chinese furniture was a majestic setting but the bathroom was a big disappointment. The shower booth was small and gaps between the doors meant a wet bathroom to be. There was no floor mat so we had to use a towel for the floor. Other than that, the hotel is pleasant on the whole. The Dong Jie next door sells street snacks and there are many souvenir shops nearby. Once we came back at 10.45 pm from a day trip out to Longmen Grottoes and we could still find a restaurant for our supper. So it's extremely convenient.

This is not a small guest house but a relatively large hotel. Our room was situated looking out on the alley with restaurants below that had a thriving and noisy busy til past midnight on the weekend. The halls are dark, the rooms were adequate but not particularly pleasant. Breakfast (Chinese buffet) was ok. As far as I could tell, no one spoke English which led to much confusion when we needed more toilet paper! The area is fine to walk in and it was pleasant to see families and couples enjoying the area and the evening water show nearby. I would pay a bit more to stay somewhere nicer.
