Heizee Hotel

Check in process was quick but no info was giving about the hotel re breakfast or wifi. The lobby looked really nice on arrival but the hallways and room stunk of cigarette smoke!! The hotel was advertised as smoke free but people were smoking in the lobby, restuarant and in the rooms. The rooms are tired with wallpaper peeling of the walls, carpets covered in stains, dirty tiles etc. The housekeeping takes 5 minutes to clean the room and this shows in the deep clean. The ceiling has had mould above the aircon which has jist been painted over. You get the idea!! Breakfast was shocking! Better to go outside the hotel than pay for a cold and limited buffet. Also bear in mind there is noone that speaks english so when trying to raise the issues noone could hear us out. Unfortuantely 1 out of 5 is doing the place justice as I would have goven this place a 0 if I had the chance. Folks go somewhere else and if this was not booked and paid for by a friend I would have done the same!

The check-in reminded me on a government agency, however it was professional. We received a room in the 23th floor. This offered a gread view over the city. Aisle and room had a strong smoke taste. According to the signs it should be a 4*-hotel which is definitively not the case. No safe, weak wifi, very old and used furniture , no minibar etc. but at least it was clean. The fitness center is not in use, probably already for years... Breakfast does not meet any standard, you better go outside. The location is ok, however, it takes about 5 subway stations to the center of Xi'An. From the subway station to the hotel it's about a 5 minutes walk.

This hotel is outside the city walls and is 20 minutes from everywhere. Convenience store next door with ATMs on the other side.The front of the building is a large tourist hotel. If you're not careful you can end up in the back/side part of the building which is a hotel/accommodation for locals with a much poorer outlook. On the whole the rooms were great although that wooden step is downright dangerous. There is also little room to access the bed next to the bathroom. The bathroom viewer is an interesting feature. The North Sydney Harbourview Hotel has just installed similar, but they look out at the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The view in our room wasn't that spectacular!!! Excellent dining facilities throughout. Splendid breakfasts to suit all tastes. Internet access in the 'business centre' was the most expensive on out tour.
