Staff - Front reception staff were fine except more communication is needed within the hotel. Informed counter we need to pack our breakfast the next morning a night before due to early tour and was informed to come to counter to collect. when we approached the counter the next morning, was told by another shift staff that the front office do not have any breakfast. Were told to go to Restaurant to get the pack breakfast but restaurants was closed and only open after 7am. Restaurant staff - the staff really have an attitude. Stopping guest from taking more food during breakfast although we were entitled for breakfast. Housekeeping- put up no disturb signage at the door as we do not need to house keep our room. Still the room was accessed and makeup. I do not know what is the purpose of no disturb signage for. Room- room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Shower water pressure was low. Toilet is very small. We stayed at family room. The curtain was switch control together with lighting. Took some tome to control the lighting and curtain. I do not recommend this hotel

I cannot in this day and age in a modem city give better than 1* to an hotel that can't provide decent internet access. The signal, on the odd occasional time we were able to get in, was crap, weak, slow - 1mps! - and flaky. Would be lucky if I got 5 minutes access in an hour of trying. Even seeking hot spots around the hotel corridors didn't help And absolutely nothing in reception Add Lumpy hard bed Dark dingy corridors Guests being allowed to smoke, especially in reception, despite signs everywhere saying 'No smoking' And a distinct tatty, run down feel. Only thing going for it, just across from train station and buses to Terracotta Warriors

The facilities are basic, a bit shabby in places and the staff can be a bit surly. The food and drink tend to be on the expensive side but there are plenty of eating options just outside the hotel. The best thing about the Jiefang is its location, next to the reconstructed city walls and close to the railway station and the buses to visit the Terracotta Army. Also, it may be tired but it is clean and the rooms comfortable.
