Xian Sunda Gentleman International Hotel

It is a very modern and clean property located in the center. One downside, the carpet in the hallways is stained. The room is spacious and comfortable with a minibar and safe. The Breakfast buffet is well stocked and varied.

I was impressed by the hotel: nice lobby, room is rather spacious and breakfast was very good: a lot to choose, coffee - excellent and both european and aasian quisine. Located just 300 m from the guarding wall but there is no entrance to the wall. We were lucky and saw a amateur's performance of pieces from Beijing opera. It was nice though very loud.

We struggled with this hotel, It is very modern and clean but let down by the standard of maintenance. We arrived in the middle of the night to find a single person on reception who could not speak any English. We were checked into a room where the window was wide open (and wouldn't shut) and the carpet fixing (small nails) were sticking up from the floor. Housekeeping couldn't resolve either problem, so we were trying to agree to me moved which the receptionist could not manage alone! Eventually we were moved into an upgraded room (upgraded meaning large but no other difference) to find we couldn't get into the room - there was a fault with the door, which neither us or the housekeeper could solve! Eventually into bed - about 2am (2 hours after arrival). The beds were solid - like sleeping on a wooden plank! On the positive- the hotel was clean, very well located within the old city walls and had a good bathroom. The buffet breakfast was fine although the staff were slow to replace empty dishes and needed prompting.
