Xian Tang Dynasty Art Garden Hotel

Very romantic. This was a most mesmerizing stay. It felt like being in the house of a literati or Chinese poet. The building is traditional with a bamboo orchard, three courtyards, one with a statue, one with a little fountain and birds and a third with a covered space where one can eat or meet. There are may red lanterns and lots of Chinese calligraphy of important poets on the walls in the corridors and in the rooms. The rooms are furnished with traditional Chinese furniture. Furniture looks a bit used but that adds to the charme. The hotel is next to the Giant Wild Goose pagoda and not far from the Great Tang Mall with lots of activities, monuments and shops in traditional looking Chinese buildings. Everything is grandios. Despite te any activities taking place outside the hotel, inside it is quiet and serene. Twice there was a young lady playing the guqin in the courtyard. The staff of the hotel are extremely nice, forthcoming and helpful even though they hardly speak foreign languages. I felt very much taken care of and at home. I did not try the restaurant. Every room has a small fried, water heater and some tea bags. I will recommend this hotel to friends I really care about as this experience is unique.

This hotel is really a big disappointment. The only positive point I can mention is the location, next to the big pagoda. The room itself is totally not hotel worthy. Very dirty, everything broken, loose wallpaper and really mold everywhere! Just embarrassing that this hotel still exists. Staff very unfriendly. Breakfast is also badly underwhelming. Don't come here.

I was only able to visit one night but would have loved to stay longer. The hotel consisted of basically three square building with very large very beautiful interior courtyards. Just walking to your room was a delight. The architecture, decorating and landscaping was wonderful. Having a breakfast while sitting at a lovely table in the courtyard was sublime. As a bonus the hotel is located in a wonderful part of the city. The large park next to the hotel was beautiful, the water fountains park across the street was beautiful, the area was lively and fun. I very much enjoyed my stay at this Hotel
