Jinjiang Inn - Jinan East Jiefang Road

I had a very pleasant stay here. Also Jinan is great aside from the not so clean air. This hotel was perfect for what I needed. A clean, safe and quiet place to crash after some site seeing. The people of Jinan are also very pleasant. Try the awesome food here. Some amazing Hunan style places around.

I spent 2 nights here at the beginning of Golden Week. It was some distance from the train station (costing roughly 40RMB in a taxi) and the directions (provided by Booking.com) weren't particularly helpful. The surrounding area isn't exactly glamorous but their was a large supermarket next door, and lots of little convenience stores within a 10 minute walk of the hotel. Lots of buses run throughout the day at very low cost (1-2RMB) so it's easy enough to get about with help from Google/Apple maps. First impressions of the hotel were good. A nice large lobby and staff were friendly enough, however, much of our communication was done through translation apps. Check in was standard for any foreign visitor in China with copies of my passport taken. I was able to pay via Alipay. The room itself was basic, and with the exception of the grubby looking windows facing residential housing, it was clean enough. The bathroom was adequate, with the hotel providing toothbrush/toothpaste kits, shampoo/body wash & plenty of towels. Be prepared to use your mobile data as WiFi isn't available. Instead, you are given an ethernet cable to connect to your laptop. It was painfully slow at times but was sufficient for my very basic needs. As I was there to watch Shandong Luneng play, it was around a 45-50min walk from the hotel to the stadium or a 30min journey via bus. I didn't mind the walk, however, there isn't much to see en route, unless you're really into cranes, then you'll be in your element. Overall, for the price, I can have absolutely no complaints with my stay here. The staff were on hand to get me a taxi in the early hours of the morning which was a nice touch. Would I stay here again? If they had WiFi, yes - However, Jinan wasn't the best place to visit for me, so I doubt I'll be back anytime soon.
