Qingdao Zhanshan Garden Hotel

Good hotel- easy to find and in a good location walkable to public transportation as well as a stone's throw away from the botanic gardens. Nice and comfortable and reasonably priced. Food is good and staff are friendy.

We stayed here for 3 days and were pleasantly surprised by the soft beds, the bath and the number of english speaking staff. The pool is located in the 'basement', but it is clean and quiet. The breakfast had some western dishes but the dinning area was always full and messy. We didnt enjoy the dinner buffet... almost no western foods and the local foods had no flavour. I have been living in China for 6 months and have had much nicer buffets elsewhere. The Zhanshan botanical park is just across the road - the hotel provided us with free tickets to ride the cable ways inside the park (value 100 RMB). If you are in Qingdao to spend time at the beach, I wouldnt recommend this hotel - its a bit too far to walk to the beach.

Stayed here for four nights found it very unsatisfactory, this hotel is for business and conferences only do not stay if you are on holiday, this hotel was recommended by Wendy Wu which was the company we booked our holiday to China with, there was no atmosphere The bar shut very early in the evening, The rooms were very tired, The housekeeping was to a very very poor standard, be careful so far Wendy Wu has chosen the wrong hotels for us.
