First of all, the hotel is at a great location near the seaside and it does look nice, but only in the pictures. In reality, the nearest beach is isn’t for swimming and there’s a horrible stench coming from algae and other dead sea animals on the beach. Depending on the wind, you can sometimes smell the stench it in the rooms as well. Having said that, the hotel officially has four stars; however, it should have barely one. The rooms are filthy, the carpets stained and windows unwashed. We stayed on the third floor and the room wasn’t completely clean (see the photos below). Furthermore, the entire hotel is damp and one can’t breathe normally inside. In addition to this, the room didn’t have a safe, refrigerator nor an iron- the amenities one would expect at a 4 star hotel. On the other hand, the staff was friendly and kept our luggage for a few hours after checkout. I’d strongly recommend avoiding this hotel if you want to have a nice holiday.

A historic hotel in great location! From mold in the shower, poor attitude of the receptionists, to unfriendly waitresses at the restaurant, you could tell this hotel is poorly managed. Obviously the basement used to be a spa or a health club or both as indicated in the poster in the elevator and promoted in the information binder in the room. They didn’t bother removing the signs and information even though the whole level was converted into windowless guess rooms.

I was given a room in the basement of this supposed 5 Star Hotel. I had no problems with that at the time I booked. I knew that the room had no window. But when I checked into my room I discovered that the air conditioning was not turned on. Consequently I had no air coming into my room. I struggled to actually breathe in the room. The service desk was unable to provide me a better room on the night I checked in. I spent the night struggling with the horrible conditions. Luckily they had a better room on the 2nd day and I appreciated that. I had a far better night of sleep then. What annoyed me was not the service I was provided, they tried their best in my opinion. What really annoyed me was the fact that the hotel management obviously feels it's not important to provide a basic service of air to the rooms. Maybe they are trying to save money? Interestingly the room on the 2nd night on a higher level 'did' have air-conditioning running. Based on the lack of absolute care of the guests I give the hotel 2 stars. 4 stars are for the service desk girl who obviously was trying her best. My room was next to a laundry room and the picture shows.
