I really enjoyed my week here while I was in Shanghai on business. The room itself was average for a chain hotel like this but very comfortable and did not lack for anything. The morning breakfast buffet was excellent. One of the hotel's strong points is its location. First, you can walk out the door for many shops and restaurants. Second, if you're driving, it is not too long from most of Shanghai's landmark areas. If I return to Shanghai, I would be glad to stay here again.

I've been wondering what Shanghai was like in 1990, and Daejeong wasn't so bustling. The old man also said that at that time, Shanghai was still full of fields, and even the Pearl of the Orient had just been built. 🕙 The first Crowne Plaza hotel in Shanghai opened only in 1993, and although the Chinese name is a bit complicated, it's actually shanghai Crowne Plaza . 🎬 First stay, although the opening time is long, but the overall maintenance is good, there are materials, there is also a sense of history thick, decorated with many elements of film, the lobby display of "The Pathfinder" film machine, various desktop originals and trophies also bring their own film history. 🍷 The 23rd floor lounge is nice and quiet, offering drinks only. The 1st floor provides meals that separate needs so everyone is not disturbed by each other. Although it was a weekend, there were groups and lots of people, but also showed the level they deserved. 🔻 I was mistaken about my check-in date before living, and after living I actually said "I have a comment to make next time," jumping out of the nostalgic filter in an instant. I don't know if I want to be speechless or angry first. If there is no special performance from the guest team, I think that I would recommend it to everyone and make sure to come here to "Shanghai first" to feel it. 🚶‍♀️ From the hotel, just a short walk to the Wukang building built in 1924, before 8 o'clock the Wukang building is very few people, you don't have to grab an airplane space to shoot "unmanned version" of old Shanghai. 🔻 There are also a variety of house shops and this is a great place for citywalk. Hotel → Wukang Building → Red Coffee on Wukang Road → Song Qingling's Home ❤️ Nearby was Fatung's shadow falling on the red-tiled roof, and in the distance a new tall building. Standing at the intersection of old and new, I suddenly understood what the old man said about 'Shanghai in 1990', not without bustle, but with a slow temperature in the bustle.

This was definitely a disappointing end to our trip in China after the generally exceptional service we had received at our previous IHG hotel stays. Nothing can make up for being assigned to a room where the basic bathroom functions such as toilet flushing and hot and cold taps do not work effectively. The solution of being expected to move rooms when we have three young children, are out of the hotel most of the time, and are in the midst of sorting everything out for the flight home is not viable. The room assignment should not have been made to any guest, let alone one with Platinum Elite status. On review, it seems that this hotel is resting on its laurels and relying on its reputation and theming to cover for a product that would not up to Crowne Plaza standards elsewhere. The smell of cigarettes hang in the hallway although the rooms were on a non-smoking floor. The buffet breakfast was plain and basic for this standard of hotel. The port cochere with vehicles passing was hazardous for people trying to get to and from the lobby given the flawed design, particularly with a specific smoking area in the main thoroughfare. There are literally thousands of options in Shanghai, and many in this area, so do not settle for this tired overhyped property.
