Imperial Palace Club

No complaint regarding location. We knew where they are located. Here are things happened. 1. No front desk. You will just see one small desk, and even no one sits there 24 hours. At night (might be from evening?), they are not there. if things happen, or if you need anything, you need to find a way. 2. No English. Anyone in the hotel does not speak English AT ALL. 3. I am locked out twice, and they did not want to change the room key. They just opened the door with their master key. Not sure why. 4. No clean at all. I was able to see other people's hair in the shower room. I am afraid whether they are changing linen regularly. 5. No refill for amenities. Last day, i should not able to find shampoo and bodyshower. You cannot complain for it because there is no front desk. 6. Wifi is THERE. haha THERE, but not available for you as you do not have China SIM card. They are asking China mobile phone number for you to get the code. Useless. Want to complaint? sorry, no one speaks English. I DO NOT recommend this hotel at all. You must find other one.

I had 2 rooms. The first one was very good. The second one seemed to have had a water damage and was smelly but had a beautiful view to the garden. The location is very convenient within walking distance from Zhaojiabang subway station. The breakfast buffet was not good, only Chinese, but did for me. Some tables where still full of the remians of the dinner the night before and the personnel did not seem to care very much about that. did not look nice and is a pity for such a nice place. Internet worked good and was fast. The area around the hotel is very nice with many restaurants within walking distance.

This boutique hotel is in an ideal location, Art Deco styling and rooms quite spacious including bathroom. We were booked for 13 days, the service so poor we moved out after 4 days. Very poor service mainly in the dining area, first morning, we had to ask for basic items, spoon, milk, sugar, tea, we actually provided our own tea bags. Day by day the service got worse, by the 4th day there was no breakfast at all, it was 8.15am no sign of staff another couple advised that we had to order, a staff member appeared briefly then closed the kitchen door. TV and Aircon problems added to the frustration. The World Cup had just started and we were told it would,be shown on big screen downstairs, arrived at 5.50am no sign of anyone, had to find another venue. The only time we found efficient staff was at checkout. IRONIC! We are used to service being under par in China but this was exceptionally bad.
