Metropole

A pretty normal hotel. It is in the style of the 40s and 50s of the 20th century. The location is excellent - waterfront, Nanjing Road is all within walking distance. We arrived in the morning, well ahead of the estimated hour - we had no problem being moved in, no extra charge. Breakfast, cleaning, service all decent, for a four.

We only stayed here for one night while transitng Shanghai. Were offered an upgrade on our booking from a standard to superior room for approx £9 . This was likely down to being off season but appreciated. The room and bathroom were both very clean with decent facilities. We didn't wat there due to a combination of jet lag and an early morning tour. The price was reasonable and touring the bund was made easy by being a short walk away

Very close to the outer beach of Shanghai, with a 100-year-old historic building~ Very elegant decoration style, century-old buildings, classic furniture, excellent location, night window street view superb~ The cleanliness of the premises is very good, the room with classic decoration has a sense of history, The only suggestion is~~ No disabled slopes can be installed at the hotel's first floor door, luggage must be removed by man Room bed is too hard, a pillow too thin, two too thick, sleeping uncomfortable~
