Riverview

Rooms are a bit small but mine had a MAGNIFICENT view of Shanghai's skyline. You can practically see it from bed. It is a lovely way to fall asleep. It's a bit far from subway stations, but the neighbourhood is walkable and not very far from the Bund.

This hotel was terrible. Staff were no helpful. The bed mattress was very hard and the WiFi is almost non-existent. There are no reasonable restaurants in the hotel and the breakfast selection was shockingly poor. The building is old and run down. I would in now way return to this hotel.

The hotel is situated in a quiet area but close enough to either walk or take a ferry across to the other side of the Haungpu River. I enjoyed the opportunity to take in the sites and sounds of Shangai from this base. The concierge was helpful with information of where to go and areas that would be of interest. I also could exchange dollars into Yuan at the main desk which was helpful and at a decent rate The rooms were functional and clean without being overpriced i thought. The fitness centre had sufficient equipment so that you didn't need to wait. Overall a great hotel if you want to explore the city and it's nightlife but also have some quiet time to yourself.
