Sofitel Shanghai Sheshan Oriental

Pretty disappointed. We used to come here pretty often for staycations in Shanghai. For this week, we booked a Club Millesime room, at a significant cost. But they have really changed the benefits. First, there is no more Club Millesime Lounge. For afternoon tea, they bring a (small) tray to your room. For the happy hour (which used to be a full-on meal with free-flow soft drinks, wine, and liquor selection) is now an VERY basic snack bar with only two type of juice. And since there is no Club Millesime Lounge, it’s just located randomly in the lobby bar. Breakfast was super sad. Again, no Club Lounge. But also no omelette bar, and the vast majority of the items are fried or deep-fried. Pastries, which I’m sure are just ordered from a vendor, tasted really bad. Coffee was really bad too with no plant-based milk options. When we checked in, the staff member was I knowledgeable about Club benefits, The only thing maybe worth coming here for is the beach pool. But we were very sad with this experience because it was so nice before with great food. I’m sad to say it as an Accor All member, but DON’T stay here. There are so many better options for the money.

I was I sofitel for five days with my family. we enjoyed the time but everything was ruined after last evening meal at members lounge! after this meal I've spend last night having diarrhea and have been vomiting. it's fifth day and I am still sick so it wasn't just regular stomach flu. there was something wrong with food for sure! I am very disappointed because I trusted the sofitel brand and was eating at hotel without a fear about food being such a bad quality, having toxins inside!

Really impressed, it had been recommended by several friends over the last few years. The pool is an absolute blast and the staff are all professional and willing to go the extra mile / Even the lifeguards and pool guys were super friendly! I had a first floor room / beautiful design and layout that backed onto the pool… Will definitely return.
