Washington Inn

I had heard this hotel has Japanese speaker however nobody do in there. taken from approx 10min. from train station. location is not bad. I recommend taking taxi from city centre if you would like to have night life around Pudong or Bund.

The worst experience I've ever had. Being a well international traveler and know what standard cheap hotels/motels are like along with staying in many hostels this would be by far the worst place. Bathroom tap broken, mould everywhere, whole place smells of smoke, no English welcomed, basically no mattress, loud road noise and just plain dirty all round. This is my first review ever and hopefully it's my last negative one.

The Washington Business Hotel (also Washington Inn) is located 10 minutes away from the metro station HuangXin Road (line 8) which is a direct connection to People's Square. The rooms are clean though the bathroom would need a make-over. There are rooms on a non-smoking floor available which is a good idea as the other rooms have a rather strong smell. The breakfast is simple Chinese style with boiled eggs, BaoZi, rice porridge, and tea. The neighbourhood is standard for YangPu with lots of small restaurants and workshops. It may not look appealing but it is definitely safe even in the middle of the night. Overall, it is a good place to spend the night especially if you are not planning to spend much time in the room anyway.
