Jingyue 99 Hotel - Shiwan

Well dummy mean, did not read the hotel reviews prior hand. However, needed somewhere to stay for few hours nearby Pudong airport and unfortunately I fall for the $22 price. Knowing that $22 hotels sometimes not so bad like in countries such as Vietnam. I guess I was very wrong about this one so-called nearby to Pudong Shanghai airport. First of all they don't answer the telephone. Second of all they only have free shuttle to the airport and therefore you need to take a $10 taxi ride to this very remote third-world side area of China. The hotel is completely dark and dingy. I don't believe they get any guest or I did not see any since everything was dark to save money. Anyway since I lost the taxi ride to the hotel I guess either take back their shuttle immediately to the airport or at least see if the room looks good. I only lasted 5-minutes in the room. No air condition and it was smoggy and totally bad. I am not sure if the rats will bother visiting. Anyway, how I just took their shuttle bad and thank God United Airlines were giving free access to their executive lounge. Wasted $22 plus the $10 taxi ride plus waste of time and pain and suffering. Thank God I was alone and did not had to make other suffer that would've tagged along with me. Bottom line, either you dish out $70 or more and stay over at a proper descent hotel if you thinking of staying the complex night or simply pay the $15/HR hotel inside the airport (between terminal 1 and 2) inside. No need for taxi or and thing. Learn from other people mistakes. Hope I save you from any pain and suffering with my posting about all Jing Yue 99 based hotels.

We landed around 07.50pm, hotel & taxi agents are abundant, they directed us to the hotel counter at terminal 1, counter no6, guy there was friendly, took us to the shuttle bus at 8.40pm (every hr). There were 3 girls at the hotel counter, check in took around 10mts, booked the return bus time as well, Deposit yuan 100, no lift which we knew, medium size room 2 large beds with a hard mattress, heater/AC,(room was cold when we got in) kettle, soap, toothphaste, toothbrush, tea/coffe, haircomb, large toilet, water drains slow in the shower cubicle. No traffic noise, only noise was heater/AC. Good wifi speed. Perfect rest though the bed was bit hard. Requested a bus time change at 5.30am, got it. Quick checkout with deposit return, return shuttle bus cost 10 yuan. Extremely satisfied, (A similar service & quality will cost minimum 4 times in europe.) Communication was not a big issue (we cannot speak a word mandarin & they do not speak perfect english)

I have been in this hotel in 2023, and 2014 , and it was very good hotel , clean , staff was excellent , I like the place and that's why I chose this Hotel twice. Also it's near the airport and they offer very good service.
