Not a 5 star hotel experience. The rooms initially looked great, however they lack storage and are dated . The view and location are all it has going for it. The reception staff do not spk English, they are quite rude. We were woken at 7.30 by the cleaners entering our room . We then were told we couldn’t have our room cleaned until we complained. The bath plug didn’t work and was never repaired even though reported. The bed was comfy but the room was noisy in the morning by people going to breakfast and housekeeping . The breakfast did not cater for western clients . Comparing this hotel for the Hyatt when both 5 star was not comparable. It’s a shame the Hyatt’s location isn’t as good . There is absolutely no storage except a wardrobe with hanging space . If you want to use the iron you need to make sure you plug in the iron first.

The location is right on the Bund. Facing the river, the skyline and the promenade. All other sightseeings are within a short distance and using Didi for your transfer is very practical. (Didi is like Uber) It was kind of difficult to communicate with the receptionists, but we met Ros there and he was very helpful and he is an asset to the hotel.

Breakfast in buffet form. Unfortunately there intrusive loud music . Bed comfortable. Door to bathroom does not close properly because completely warped. Could not be judged either 🫣. What was completely missing was the possibility to put down the suitcase. Second suitcase for two people on the floor is very unsightly. During the day, even on the upper floors, the police whistle. Great we found the possibility to wash and dry laundry. Otherwise, the location in front of the front gate is difficult - taxi or similar have No way to park reasonably! To do this, you have to carry the suitcase up over several steps. There is no ramp or ramp.
