If it was not referred, would not know this hidden value for money 5 star hotel which was conveniently located next to Nanjing Road Walking Street and Huanghe Road for the local restaurants. Most of the landmarks were within 20-30 minutes by walking or taxi ride. Great service as all requests of the Group were met.

A Truly Outstanding Stay at Shanghai Marriott Marquis City Centre We had the pleasure of staying for five nights at the Shanghai Marriott Marquis City Centre, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel offers everything a discerning traveler could wish for. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a warm, welcoming, and genuinely hospitable team. Our room was beautifully appointed, impeccably maintained, and featured luxuriously soft, sparkling white linens that made every night’s sleep wonderfully comfortable. The hotel’s wellness facilities are outstanding, including an excellent gym, steam room, sauna, swimming pool, and Jacuzzi—perfect for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. The Front Office team deserves special recognition for their remarkable efficiency and professionalism. Eamon, Daisy, and Eric went above and beyond to ensure our stay was seamless and memorable. Equally commendable was the Concierge team. Maria, Richard, and their colleagues were incredibly helpful, especially in assisting me with tracking my shopping purchases, which they handled with exceptional efficiency and care. Breakfast each morning was another highlight, offering an extensive and beautifully presented buffet with an impressive selection of fresh, healthy, and delicious options to suit every palate. The Shanghai Marriott Marquis City Centre truly combines world-class hospitality, excellent facilities, and outstanding service. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Shanghai. We look forward to returning on our next trip.

We like to stay in the marriot chain because it's always a first-class vacation. The hotel is in the centre, close to the main attractions. Nearby stop with double-decker tour buses, lots of shopping malls large, very beautiful waterfront, all within walking distance. The service is excellent, very friendly and diligent staff. The spa and pool are very good. But I didn't like the food at all. Breakfast is noticeably weaker than other hotels in the chain. I realize there was more of a Chinese flavor here, but we had little to eat there. Usually in this chain there are always freshly squeezed juices, low-salt fish like trout, delicious cakes, etc. There was none of this, your breakfasts are very modest. So I don't recommend overpaying for it, but going out to the cafe and having breakfast.
