Stayed there for four days. The hotel is a budget hotel, not very luxurious, but suitable for budget travelers. The room was clean and well furnished. The hotel has a great location, in a quiet area. It is a walking distance from Nanjing road and People Square. The staff were good in English, and were really friendly and helpful, specially when translating some frequently used phrases, and some address from/to Chinese.

Just blocks away from where all the shopping is in Shanghai, the famous Nanjing Road... Quite an old hotel, but not bad either. Serves typical chinese breakfast with the same menu everyday. Good thing Baguette Paris is just at the hotel lobby and some resto are nearby.

Metropolis hotel at Shanghai is located very near Nanjing Lu "walking street" i.e. a street where a person can relax at various eating outlets, European restaurants, shop if interested. And easy connectivity through People Square metro station. Good for business men who have nothing to do in the evenings, and easy on the purse.
