Shanghai Hong Qiao State Guest

I was travelling on business and stayed in this hotel as it was convenient for work, but was joined by my family as it was school holidays. The staff here are brilliant - the front desk staff are highly professional with great English skills and also very helpful and kind. The same can be said for the breakfast team, nothing was too much trouble and as a family we felt so welcome. Particular thanks to Connie on the front desk who was always helping me out. And Purple and Sunny at breakfast, who were lovely with my children. Look out for the robot helper for deliveries too!

This is a nice hotel, with beautiful surroundings. The rooms were clean, and the staff sufficient. Breakfast was good, European and Asian dishes. Don’t expect everyone here to speak or understand English, though. It’s really a more Chinese experience, but that’s what you are in China for, right? The pool was nice, and they have a cute little limo GolfCart to deliver you there. The WiFi was okay...not super strong. I highly suggest getting a VPN before you head to China, then you can access Google sites. Know that AMEX isn’t accepted in China. My MC would only work at HSBC banks, so prepare yourself for that as well. You don’t want to be stuck with no money!

I stayed in this beautiful hotel on Sept 20. We enjoyed excellent service when we stayed in the hotel. The staff alway give us a hand when we need. I left my plug in the hotel. I found this when I back to Hong Kong. I called the hotel to explain the case and ask them send back the plug to me around Sept 23 10:00pm. The staff, a good guy who service block 3 give me warmly reply and send back the plug to me. It is really appreciated. I would like to take this chance to thank him.
