Home Inn Style Shanghai Wuning Road Metro Station Anyuan Road

First of all, I didn't chose this hotel myself. Due to Covid situation, all passengers are required to do 14 + 7 hotel quarantine & self-isolation in appointed hotels arranged randomly upon arriving in Shanghai starting from mid or late January 2022. After landing in Shanghai on February 6th, 2022, I took me almost 5 hours to go through all the processes (including waiting time in lines) and finally settled in the hotel room. Frankly speaking, the building itself of the hotel already looks horrible, at least 50/ 60 years old with a dark lobby which couldn't even fit in our group of guests who arrived at the same time. I was lucky enough being assigned on the 8th floor, top floor of the building to have an duplex room, with 2 queen beds on each floor to give you a spacious feeling during my quarantine. However, I was shocked when i entered the room, mould on the marble around the basin, felt like been there forever but no one cares. Dirty floor! Dust and hair everywhere, as someone coming from hospitality background and in the middle of Omicron outbreak, I highly doubt the staff managed to clean the room at all?! It took me quiet sometime to basically clean up the floor and table, side table, removed one of the chairs with lots of stains and covered the other one with bags so that i could took a sit... Luckily hotel allows delivery with dry goods and some cleaning products which are packed, so that I could do another round of clean up on the next days after i got everything i needed. I tried to made myself home there as I had to spent 14 nights there. I am grateful that the staircase and extra space allowed me to set up my exercise routine to move a bit during these 14 days. And it got to the point that i wish i don't have to move after 14 days as I didn't wanna bother to clean another room again (of course I couldn't), which i did my best to maintain the cleanliness level in our room. All in all, I will never stay in this motel again, poor wifi, poor maintained or managed hotel. I hope everyone will pack enough of cleaning wet towels if you need to travel and quarantine in china. Coz you will never know where you will end up with until the last moment. Good luck!

This place was just awful. The staff doesn't speak any English at all, so even though we were told it would be 400 yuan, they charged us 500 for the night. But of course you cannot argue about the price because no one speaks any English. As for sleeping, forget about it. The beds are like concrete. So hard you have to toss and turn all night to stop the bruising. The windows are paper thin and street noise goes on all night. The only nice part was the shower. They were also undergoing a renovation so the hallways were filled with mattresses, construction work. All and all an absolutely terrible experience.

You really do get what you pay for with this hotel, a bed, old TV and a bathroom. The bedding was old and worn out, possibly dirty, wasn't game enough to look! The hotel is a 20-30 minute cab ride into The Bund costing around Y40. There is no wifi, reception spoke no english, and the breakfast is defiantly orientated toward asian patrons. I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE! .... although I would recommend the fast food place down the road .... YTK? Two Huge chicken burger meals for AUD$5!
