Receptionist was sleeping when I arrived. Feels like a ghost hotel standing alone waiting to be served. No people in sight. Tried to ask them for assistance to call a taxi and they asked me to stand outside to wait. Starts to drizzle and told them to help booked a taxi again and they told me to cross over the road to hail. Disappointing. Breakfast if you come later than 8.30 then all food is G.O.N.E. service staff shout across the dining area. But room is nice, comfortable and clean. Had a see thru bathroom. Drainage at the bath area clogs thou. Rating is for the room and not for the service. There's convenient stores and a cafe nearby, and a mall opposite the hotel. Experienced people trying to open the door middle of the night once and people pressing the bell middle of the night once too. Other than that, bed is comfy and room is good.

I stayed at this hotel in June 2016 for 3 nights as part of a trip to China. I would strongly recommend you don't stay at this hotel! Many of these reviews (which I didn't realise are from 2014 are in my opinion are quite dated). To start off with the good the hotel is located fairly close to the metro station. If you have business at the Everbright Convention Centre (across the road) it may be convenient as well- but even then I would say find another hotel. If you are coming to Shanghai for touring/traveling purposes I would recommend finding a hotel closer to the city centre, as this was quite far from the popular touring areas (which I didn't realise when booking). Another positive is the hotel has quite strong wifi (no vpn). The hotel itself is very run down- you can tell that pretty much everything is in need of an update. The lobby is very small for the hotel itself and the elevators are pretty worn. The hotel staff themselves are quite unhelpful and speak very little English so just be prepared. The hallways reek of cigarettes (which is normal in China I guess). Broken glass in the elevators and broken mirrors in the hallways and in general a bit dirty. The rooms themselves are not that bad and quite funky/boutique like but in our opinion could still be updated and don't make up for the rest of the place. Also when booking it says on trip advisor that this hotel has a fitness centre (one of the reasons I booked) but it does not have anything of the sort. I went upstairs and it looks like maybe 5-10 years ago there may have been one, but it was completely demolished since and is empty/run down which I was quite upset about. There is no other amenities whatsoever from what we could see. The hotel is linked to a Chinese restaurant. We ate here one of the nights for convenience sake and I thought the food quality was quite poor. The staff didn't speak any english but to their credit they really were trying the best they could. There is a free breakfast at the hotel which is served in this Chinese restaurant buffet style. The restaurant emits an overpowering seafood scent which for me made it hard to eat at all. The breakfast seemed to be some leftovers from the night before dinner and was a lot of Chinese options but in my opinion pretty low food quality. Overall if you're touring around I would recommend a hotel more central. This hotel needs updating and to make some major changes!
