NanYing Hotel Shanghai

The hotel was nice and clean with very friendly helpful staff. The lobby and bar area was nice with free open wifi. The rooms were a good size with comfortable beds and a tv. The bathroom had everything you needed, towels, hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. The rooms also had small bottles of free water that were replaced every day so they were handy to grab and go. Breakfast was nice with a good selection of food, cost 40 yuan per person and can be charged on the room account. They ask you to put a 300 yuan deposit down on the room when you check in but you get it back when you check out. Nice hotel in a good location, some really nice bars down the road if you turn left leaving the hotel.

Like many other reviewers I stayed her before joining and with a Gadventures tour. The hotel is clean and basic. The location is very convenient to Shanghai's modern metro. Also this is in the former French area of Shanghai with many outstanding restaurants and not far from a major shopping district.

I stayed here as part of a G Adventures tour and we were only in Shanghai for two nights, but this hotel was very pleasant to stay in. The location is very good with the Shanghai Library subway stop being a five minute walk away, making it easy to navigate the city. Also there are a large number of shops and restaurants on and just off Huaihai Road which are convenient for obtaining supplies and getting breakfast before exploring the rest of Shanghai. There's even a Hooters further up the road if that's your kind of thing! The lobby and dining area were very spacious and modern, however we did find that given the waiting area in the lobby only had four seats it was not very practical at all. On one occasion when waiting for the rest of our group we waited in the chairs of the dining area (which wasn't completely separate or obvious that we shouldn't sit there) and we were asked to move just a few yards away in the lobby where there were no available seats. This wasn't the end of the world, but as there was nobody around you'd think we'd be ok to wait there as guests of the hotel. So I'd suggest given the large space in the lobby that perhaps some additional seating be put in place. The room was also very modern and spacious, and the large comfy beds in a twin room were greeted as a welcome surprise compared to other hotels on our tour. The wifi also worked fine and the service at the hotel was generally good.
