Shanghai New Westlake Hotel

This hotel is located in a tiny side street/internal courtyard in the French concession. The location is great because it is central yet quiet and the metro station across the street has 3 different lines which makes it easy to get around the city. + We had a very spaceous room The room and the bedding overal is clean - The staff barely takes notice of you never says hello or goodbye, the level of English is very limited to not existent The breakfast is not very good and the room where it is served smells bad to a degree that you dont want to eat there after 2 breakfast we preferred to stay away. There are tables outside but they refused to serve us there. Although the room is clean overall if you look into cupboards or touch the rail above the shower you will find a nice layer of dust The wifi constantly jumps between different routers and is hence very unstable Lots of room for improvement.

I had a stay in the new-westlake hotel on january 22d The breakfast employee named miss MA Jin姐金is the more rude ever She did not say “good morning”. She never smiled. When we asked with my friend for 5 eggs she said “you eat too much”. When she brought the food she threw it on the table. This attitude is an offense to customer. Then, I came back to ask her name. she refused to give it to me. I had to ask to the front desk to come with me asking her name. she yielded at me. She never apology. Are employees supposed to yield at customers? Miss MA Jin should not work on this hotel. She should quit right now. This review will be send not only to hotels reviews websites, but also to her management line In the room, the phone was not working. The front desk employee said she knew it, but forgot to tell me Then, the AC was so noisy that it was impossible to sleep. She pretended she did not know Once again, no apology. No consideration for the customer The only exception is the morning front desk employee, on January 22d at 9 am who said good morning, smiled, apologied for the unacceptable behavior of others and showed consideration for the customer This hotel should be downgraded to one star only. Half of the employees should be replaced, starting with MA Jin

Hi, I had stayed in the hotel for five days (Nov 25-30, 2014) on an official trip. Although there is no lift facility in the hotel, but they helped us in getting our luggage up and down every time. Their hospitality was too good. some of the receptionist also knew English Language. The hotel is located in the heart of the city and famous Huaihai Road is adjacent to the hotel where You may find McDonald's, Tandoor and Pizza from Mr. Panda also. Only breakfast service (no room service) provided by hotel which you have to order in the previous night.
