Hengshan Garden Hotel (Former Regal International East Asia Hotel）

Excellent hotel. Very good rooms and breakfast. The restaurant on the ground floor is excellent. Very nice residential area and close to the subway.

Comfortable hotel, clean, with an excellent breakfast and a wonderful restaurant for lunch with a luxurious buffet at an exceptional price! Additionally, the proximity to the subway allowed us to go back and forth as many times as we wanted from all the points of interest in just a few minutes during our free time.

Clean and pleasant hotel with ATM next door and some pleasant parks nearby. Food in the general restaurant was mediocre although the Chinese restaurant was good. There is also what appeared to be an independent Chinese restaurant around the back of the hotel in the 'basement' that we would thoroughly recommend. Don't get caught by the issue of paying for laundry which left me feeling deeply humiliated. It was the first time of using laundry services in China and the laundry was duly done. I assumed that the cost would be added to the bill when we checked out as is done throughout the rest of the world. However, I found that I was locked out of my room when we returned late in the evening from my day trip because we had not paid for the laundry immediately. The staff were very difficult about allowing access to my room to get the money out of my safe to pay the bill and after seemingly agreeing that I would access my room, go to the restaurant which closed in 15 minutes and return to pay for my laundry admitted that I had again been locked out of my room and had to again reprogram my keys. It was not just that I was locked out but the humiliating way the staff treated me that makes me mention this here which is, I later discovered, usual in China. Would I stay here again - no - but don.t let my humiliation put you off.
