Wyndham Bund East Shanghai

Location not that good, but it's OK for my family because we have tour coach. Food is ok and room is clean. But the horror is the water heater is not functioning well! This is during winter time! Worse service is when you told the front desk the night before to have the repair done the next day, nothing is done and the service staff is simply appalling for not telling the relevant department to do the follow up. Then my family have to wait a long while for the technicians to come to our rooms (2 rooms have the water heater problems, so you can guess how many more rooms have the same crappy problem ?!?!) to repair the heater. Actually, after the so call repair, the water heater is still not functioning consistently. Luck that my family were staying for 2 nights only, so I don't even bother to feedback any more to the hotel management.

Arrived 2 days late due to flight cancellation - staff very accommodating in getting me a room. Very comfortable and spacious room. Great showers. Breakfast was presented buffet style with plenty of choices -eastern / western. Used the indoor swimming pool and the gym is well equipped. The hotel is close to the river and the Bund area is walkable along the river with great views of the city (3hrs - 12 kms).

Before the good 1 concern. After an exhausting travel day we arrived around 11.30 pm. It took nearly 45mins to check in our group of 8. Far too long. But the hotel itself is quite good. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious and comfortable. Our window was facing a freeway directly at window level but that was ok. Beds really comfy and breakfast had a good selection of east and west to choose from. Noy much around the hotel but a shopping centre about 10 minutes walk away. All up a pretty good place to base yourself for a visit to Shanghai.
