Fantastic hotel. Rooms authentic (v hard mattress but good) and the location was great. Breakfast OK but the people serving breakfast, particularly the lady who must make you a coffee as you cant press the button yourself, were absolutely miserable. Front of house staff were great. Had some trouble getting to the room once as there were some ladies in traditional dress having photos taken that would not be moved but thats not really the hotels fault. Location is fantastic.

Lovely authentic boutique hotel in the heart of Pingyao ancient city. We had our own courtyard with two rooms. Hotel cannot be reached directly by car. Hotel guests and luggage are picked up outside the ancient city wall by mini vehicle outside.

Ancient club for bankers and transformed into a hotel, like all period structures will never meet all the needs of the modern traveler. That said, the hotel is beautifully located, with very traditional rooms with a traditional bed, good facilities and all rooms overlook small internal courtyards with a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. Improved food.
