Hanyi Hotel

I appreciated the hardwood floored room so much better than tired and dirty, worn carpets! The room was tastefully decorated and had a nice comfy bed, not the rock hard variety so often found in China. Wifi was good and breakfast was very very nice being served rather than a buffet. Interesting artwork on every floor.

The interior tries hard to have a contemporary Chinese style. It is quiet ambitious, but poor maintenance and operation let the space look a bit shabby. An unvoidable smell of cleaning and washing agents do the rest to feel a uncomfortable. The breakfast is just terrible. I was okay for one night, but when again in Chengdu I will certainly not stay here again.

I stayed at the Hanyi while on holiday in Chendu. We enjoyed our stay very much. It's traditional Chinese hotel made for a nice change of pace. The room was very comfortable and large with a bed, sofa, dresser and a separate room with a desk. The bathroom was also large and well organized. Each floor was decorated with unique artwork and music that was quite nice. The breakfast was very nice with a large selection of Chinese and Western choices. The hotel is located in a nice area and walking distance to restaurants, convenience stores and other necessities. Leave yourself a little time at the check-out as they need to send someone to the room to ensure the minibar is complete and all other things that need to be there are still there. All in all, we'd return to Hanyi when in Chengdu.
