Somerset Riverview

The hotel lobby is nice and welcoming. Reception service could be improved — nothing particularly impressive during our stay. The room condition felt slightly rundown, with a noticeable mouldy smell. The hotel had converted the living room into an additional sleeping area to accommodate more guests at a higher price, but the mattress in the living room was uncomfortable and felt like there were insect bites. My white towel (hang separate and slightlydifferent from hotel's towel) been removed by the cleaner together with the hotel’s towel. No further follow up by the Hotel. Overall, the room was not impressive at all. A simple breakfast was provided. Compared to our experience at Somerset in Guangzhou, this property falls short in both service and room condition.

The service provided by every single staff member was amazing, so warm and friendly I really appreciated all the attentiveness. The front desk team will always have someone that speaks perfect English making easier to communicate for western guests. The security staff in the 1st floor are also very polite and welcoming at all times. The gym is well equipped. However, the pool, sauna and steam needs a bit of work. As well, the AC in the Apartment living room was very loud. If this issues would be fixed this place will get the 5 stars it deserves. The apartment was comfortable design and having the kitchen plus the washing machine makes it convenient for long or short stays. The location is perfect right next to the river for afternoon walks and close to downtown are within 10 min walk.

We are checking out today after staying for 5 nights. We checked in on 15th out on 20th June. Overall our stay was pleasant, from lobby to reception to housekeeping to F&B. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our room was spacious, daily cleaning was done. And I believe was one Ms Eva from housekeeping. She's extremely cheerful whenever we are out for breakfast. Our stay included breakfast, which was adequately enough, considerably wide spread .Personally I love the waffle (diy) What I like when I chose Somerset is because of the spacious of the apartment, the washer and dryer included during our stay. Shower gel, shampoo, dental kit and comb replenished daily. But do bring your own cotton bud. We have 2 king sized beds which were extremely comfortable. We would like to express our thanks to Ms Kelly from reception in booking for us Panda Sanctuary and Research using her handphone. We tried for more than an hour unsuccessful apparently due to the requirements of a local handphone number which need to be input online booking. Ms Kelly was so patient and thoughtful that she suggested using her handphone to book. 😍 Because I booked the room back in Feb/March we only knew the swimming pool was under renovation during our stay. I learnt from Ms Nancy and Ms Cala that renovation was made known only last month. My boys were disappointed because of the hot weather here, it did go up to 37Deg C in the first 2 days. A play in the pool would certainly be great! Ms Nancy was apologetic and personally came up to my room later that day with 2 cute bears for my boys. Ms Cala included in wechat so that I could know the latest updates in Somerset Riverview should I plan to return. Ms Nancy and Ms Cala professionalism is greatly appreciated. While checking out, we were delighted to see Ms Kelly again. We also had the pleasure in meeting Ms Lory and both recommended us to visit Chengdu in different seasons to witness the beauty of er mei san and jiuzhaigou in the near future. Next, I highly recommend the inhouse restaurant for meals. We had dinner twice, room service and restaurant itself (same one for breakfast) we thoroughly enjoyed the food and service from the restaurant. Everyone we met in hotel or in public, had been friendly and warmth. We love Chengdu and would surely return again. We also recommend to family to stay here and you will be happy with the spacious room and friendly and professional service from Somerset Riverview Chengdu.
